The San
José State University Police Department
now offers Live Scan fingerprinting services
to the community for the purposes of pre-employment
screening only.

8:00 a.m. to Noon
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Appointments for Live Scan
fingerprinting can only be made by calling the
UPD Records Office at (408) 924-2172 during
normal business hours, as listed above.
Walk-ins during normal business hours are welcome - However, if others
have scheduled appointments, you will be
asked to wait until those individuals have
been printed.
The San José State University
Police Department Records Office may be
closed on State or National holidays and
you are encouraged to call ahead before
coming into the Department on a 'walk-in'
basis.
Payment must be made and valid
identification provided to the operator
before your fingerprints are made. Remember,
you must bring the fingerprint application
forms with you.

Fees
Please note: the rolling
fee of $20 includes only the cost of
taking your fingerprints! Additional
fees will be charged by DOJ and FBI clearance.
Other additional fees may apply for your
particular license of clearance. See below
for more information.
The San José State University
Police Department charges a $20.00 rolling
fee. This fee is in addition to any other
processing costs associated with your Live Scan Application.
This fee must be paid by either cash or
money order (No checks, credit cards or bills over $20.00 will
be accepted). Money Orders must be payable
to: San José State University Police Department
or SJSU PD) Any processing fees associated
with your fingerprint cards must also be
paid at the time they are scanned.

Documentation Required
At the time your fingerprints
are rolled, you must bring with you three
(3) copies of the 'fingerprint application
form'.
You must also bring valid
identification with you to your appointment.
Valid identification includes a California
Driver's license or Identification Card.
A valid passport with a birth certificate
will also be accepted. No other forms of
identification will be accepted for purposes
of Live Scan fingerprinting.

UPD Location
The San José State University
Police Department is located at the corner
of South Seventh and East San Salvador Streets
in downtown San Jose.
Parking is available in the
Seventh Street Parking Garage adjacent to
the University Police Department. You are
welcome to park in one of the 20 minute
parking spaces located immediately inside
the parking structure (to the left as you
enter off 7th Street), and go to the UPD
lobby for parking instructions. If the garage
is full, tell the garage attendant you are
parking in the 20 minute space and go to
the UPD lobby for parking instructions.
Please note that unauthorized vehicles left
in 20 minute parking spaces will be cited.
