Holiday Toy Drive

Toy Drive photos

The San José State University Police Department is once again collecting toys for children in need around San José State University. Last year, we distributed toys to over 1,200 children and, in conjunction with the Christmas Dinner Fund, Inc., we distributed holiday food baskets to over 200 families.

This year, 50 application spaces have been reserved for families of SJSU students, staff and/or faculty, in need of assistance. Interested individuals should come with their Tower Card to the University Police Department lobby on campus at the corner of S. Seventh and E. San Salvador streets.

As we have done for the last 17 years, the University Police Department is reaching out to the campus community and surrounding businesses for support with this project. We hope you will consider helping us with a cash gift or a gift in kind so that we may continue making the children’s holidays a bit more festive and happy.

Cash gifts are the simplest and easiest gifts you can make. All monetary donations (100% tax deductible) are processed by the Tower Foundation of San José State University, a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. You may either donate online or send us a personal check, cashier’s check, or money order made payable to the Tower Foundation of San José State University (tax ID # 83-0403915). You should reference “UPD Holiday Toy Drive” on the memo portion of your check, and mail it to:

Tower Foundation
San José State University
Attn. UPD Holiday Toy Drive
One Washington Square
San José, CA 95192-0183

You may also help by donating an unwrapped new toy (ages 0-17), which can be dropped off at the University Police Department lobby on campus at the corner of S. Seventh and E. San Salvador streets.

The children and their families are our primary focus, and our staff and elves are all volunteers. If you have any questions about the Holiday Toy Drive program, please contact Liza Rios at (408) 924-2171 or Claire Kotowski at (408) 924-2174. Happy holidays to you and your family!
