The
Division
The
Administrative Services Division is
responsible for the overall readiness
and operation of the administrative
functions of the Department.
This
includes responsibility for the performance
of the Investigations and Crime Prevention
Unit, Community Policing Coordination,
the Police Records Unit, Property
and Evidence Unit, and the Fiscal
Services Unit.
The
Administrative Services Division
Commander
is responsible for the Department's
Quality Assurance Program, and coordinating
and supervising the Department
staff development programs, personnel
recruitment, workplace violence program,
internal investigations, media relations,
technical services, policy development
and budgeting.
Division
Sergeant
The
Administrative Services Sergeant has
primary responsibility for filing
requests to recruit, performing initial
applicant reviews, coordinating all
necessary phases of pre-employment
testing and the processing of required
paperwork in order to facilitate the
hiring of new employees according
to Department needs, monitors the
Department's POST profile to assure
compliance with all training and employment
standards, provides or schedules pre-service
(i.e. academy) and recurring in-service
(i.e. CPT) training, and receives,
logs and processes outside training
school requests.
This
unit is responsible for the timely
filing of POST notices of appointment
and separation, and the requests for
the award of professional certificates.
The
Administrative Services Sergeant oversees
the Property and Evidence function,
which includes: hiring, training,
scheduling, and evaluation of Property
Clerks, routine inspection of the
facility to assure its integrity and
physical security, and periodic examination
of paperwork, data files, and access
records to assure compliance with
applicable law and professional standards
well as quality control.
The
Administrative Services Sergeant oversees
the Communications function, which
includes: hiring, training, scheduling,
and evaluation of Dispatchers, routine
inspection of the facility to assure
its functionality, and the periodic
monitoring of radio traffic, paperwork,
and database systems to assure compliance
with applicable law and professional
standards as well as quality control.
The
Administrative Services Sergeant maintains
regular contact and membership in
appropriate professional organizations,
attending meetings, conferences, and
seminars when appropriate, in order
to maintain the Department's ability
to fulfill its public safety service
obligations in a professional manner
and participates in special projects
and workgroups in order to represent
the Department's interest in the planning,
design, and implementation of major
projects.
This
unit maintains the issued property
inventory log to assure Department
property is properly accounted
for. |
