CAIT members work together to detect, track and intervene within the campus community in order to reduce, if not completely avoid, violence and tragedy on the SJSU campus. The team consists of: VP Student Affairs; University Police Chief; AAVP Faculty Affairs; AVP Student Affairs; AVP Student Affairs; AVP Human Resources; and the Director of Counseling Services.
CAIT emphasizes that Faculty and staff are key informers on campus and are often the first to notice issues that arise with students. CAIT strongly advises our community to not ignore uneasy feelings and to consider that this issue may be an opportunity to get help for a student. CAIT urges, if you see something, say something!
If you encounter behavior at SJSU that you believe to be unusual and it makes you feel uneasy, please report it by calling UPD at (408) 924-2222 or you may report it confidentially online at www.sjsupd.com. You may also contact any CAIT member or make a report to MySafe Campus at 1-800-716-9007 or www.mysafecampus.com.
